My client is an organization called Friends of the Bees. The function of the Friends of the Bees project is to address the potential extinction of bees who are the pollinators that are responsible for one in three bites of food we eat. Without them, grocery stores would run short of some of our most important and nutritious foods. Coffee? You’ll need to cut back. Nuts and berries for breakfast? I don’t think so. A yummy salad? Your bowl will be nearly empty.
Pollinators, especially bees, are in great peril. Their populations are declining around the world. The organization Friends of the Bees was set up to inform and educate and to work toward the goal of elimination of the pollinator-toxic pesticides like neonicotinoids and glyphosate and shift to organic farming systems that are healthier for bees, as well as being healthier to other pollinators such as butterflies, and ultimately healthier for people and the planet.
