PROJECT OVERVIEW:
This style originated around 1910, and stayed into the 1930's. Recently there has been a revival in this style starting in the late 1980's. The style was used for posters and labels, for travel, and real estate promotions, and fruit crate labels such as oranges and pears.
These posters used high contrast imagery, with bold color and clear division of color breaks. Highly simplified edges of shapes, usually flat shapes with use of simple linear gradients. This style often has an identifiable foreground, middle ground and background images.
